Consequently, our general policy is that all fees for services rendered are non-refundable. This approach is necessary to protect the integrity of our intensive, custom work. It ensures that when you engage Akiyaz, you are securing a dedicated portion of our team’s time, focus, and expertise. This commitment is mutual; just as we commit fully to your project upon engagement, we require the same level of commitment from our clients. Scope of Non-Refundable Services

Digital Downloads and Reports

Akiyaz may offer digital products, including proprietary market reports, research guides, or curated data packages. The value of these products lies in the data and insights they contain. Once a client has initiated a download or been granted access to the digital file, the product is considered delivered and consumed. Because digital goods cannot be physically returned, and their value is realized upon access, we do not offer refunds for any digital downloads. This includes any customized reports generated as part of a larger consulting package, as the labor and data costs are incurred during their creation.

Real Estate Scouting and Introductions

This highly personalized service involves a significant investment of on-the-ground work and network activation. The process begins immediately upon engagement and includes an initial needs assessment, activating our network of independent brokers, filtering potential properties against your criteria, and coordinating communications or site visits. This is a labor-intensive effort that leverages our most valuable asset: our curated network of professionals across Japan. Therefore, all fees related to property scouting, brokerage introductions, or associated real estate advisory services are non-refundable, as the costs and work are incurred from day one.

Event Deposits and Attendance Fees

For exclusive workshops, seminars, or special events hosted by Akiyaz, attendance is often limited to ensure a high-quality, interactive experience. Any deposits or full attendance fees are used to cover substantial upfront costs, including venue booking, speaker fees, material preparation, and catering. For this reason, these fees are non-refundable. Your payment secures a spot that cannot be offered to another potential attendee, and our financial commitments for the event are made based on registrations.

Business Visa and Administrative Coordination

Our services that facilitate market entry or provide guidance on Business Manager visas involve a multi-step process of coordination with third-party legal professionals. The fees for this service cover the administrative work, project management, and expert facilitation we provide at each stage. It is important to note that the final outcome of a visa application is determined solely by the Japanese immigration authorities. Our fee is for the process of professional coordination, not a guaranteed result. As such, fees associated with these services are non-refundable regardless of the application’s outcome.

Exceptional Circumstances for Refunds

Our Process for Rare Cases

We built our business on a foundation of integrity, and we are committed to fair dealings. While our services are non-refundable, we will consider refunds under a few extremely exceptional circumstances. We make these decisions solely at our discretion and on a case-by-case basis. Any request for a refund must be made in writing within 10 days of the original transaction.

We may consider a partial or full refund only if one of the following specific situations occurs:

  • Step 3: Decision and Communication We will complete our review within 15 business days. We will communicate our final decision to you in writing, explaining the basis for our determination. If a refund is approved, we will proceed to the final step.

  • Step 4: Processing the Refund If we approve a refund, we will issue the funds to the original payment method within 10 business days of the approval notification. We will send a final confirmation email once the transaction has been processed.
