By making a payment for or beginning the use of any Akiyaz service, you signify your formal acceptance of this Akiyaz Refund Policy in its entirety. It is the client’s responsibility to review and understand these terms prior to engagement. This policy constitutes a binding agreement and serves as the foundational document for all transactions. We believe this mutual understanding is the first step in a successful and trusting professional partnership.

The core of our business at Akiyaz is the delivery of specialized, high-value intellectual capital. Unlike a tangible product that can be returned to a shelf, our services—strategic advice, market analysis, curated introductions, and data-driven reports—are delivered and consumed the moment they are shared. The value is in the expertise, the hours of dedicated research, the activation of our extensive professional network, and the formulation of bespoke strategies tailored to your unique goals.

Consequently, our general policy is that all fees for services rendered are non-refundable. This approach is necessary to protect the integrity of our intensive, custom work. It ensures that when you engage Akiyaz, you are securing a dedicated portion of our team’s time, focus, and expertise. This commitment is mutual; just as we commit fully to your project upon engagement, we require the same level of commitment from our clients. This framework allows us to confidently allocate the necessary resources to drive meaningful Japan regional growth on your behalf.

Our consulting and strategic advisory services are the cornerstone of our offerings. This process begins with extensive discovery calls to understand your vision, followed by in-depth research and analysis of your target region or property. We then formulate proprietary strategies and deliver expert opinions based on years of experience. The value in this service is transferred the moment our advice and strategy are communicated. As this intellectual capital, once shared, cannot be retracted or “returned,” all fees associated with consulting, workshops, and strategic advisory sessions are considered final.

Akiyaz may offer digital products, including proprietary market reports, research guides, or curated data packages. The value of these products lies in the data and insights they contain. Once a client has initiated a download or been granted access to the digital file, the product is considered delivered and consumed. Because digital goods cannot be physically returned, and their value is realized upon access, we do not offer refunds for any digital downloads. This includes any customized reports generated as part of a larger consulting package, as the labor and data costs are incurred during their creation.

This highly personalized service involves a significant investment of on-the-ground work and network activation. The process begins immediately upon engagement and includes an initial needs assessment, activating our network of independent brokers, filtering potential properties against your criteria, and coordinating communications or site visits. This is a labor-intensive effort that leverages our most valuable asset: our curated network of professionals across Japan. Therefore, all fees related to property scouting, brokerage introductions, or associated real estate advisory services are non-refundable, as the costs and work are incurred from day one.

For exclusive workshops, seminars, or special events hosted by Akiyaz, attendance is often limited to ensure a high-quality, interactive experience. Any deposits or full attendance fees are used to cover substantial upfront costs, including venue booking, speaker fees, material preparation, and catering. For this reason, these fees are non-refundable. Your payment secures a spot that cannot be offered to another potential attendee, and our financial commitments for the event are made based on registrations.

Our services that facilitate market entry or provide guidance on Business Manager visas involve a multi-step process of coordination with third-party legal professionals. The fees for this service cover the administrative work, project management, and expert facilitation we provide at each stage. It is important to note that the final outcome of a visa application is determined solely by the Japanese immigration authorities. Our fee is for the process of professional coordination, not a guaranteed result. As such, fees associated with these services are non-refundable regardless of the application’s outcome.

We built our business on a foundation of integrity, and we are committed to fair dealings. While our services are non-refundable, we will consider refunds under a few extremely exceptional circumstances. We make these decisions solely at our discretion and on a case-by-case basis. Any request for a refund must be made in writing within 10 days of the original transaction.

We may consider a partial or full refund only if one of the following specific situations occurs:

• Complete Non-Delivery of Service: A service was paid for in full, but due to an internal failure on our end, we did not deliver any part of the contractually agreed-upon service.

• Significant Verifiable Error: A major, factual error occurred on our part that rendered a deliverable (like a report or audit) entirely unusable for its intended purpose. For example, delivering a detailed market audit for the wrong municipality.

• Defective Physical Goods: In the rare event we offer a physical product (e.g., a printed book), and it is received in a clearly damaged or defective condition.

To ensure clarity, the following situations do not qualify as exceptional circumstances and are not eligible for refunds:

• Client Change of Mind: A client changes their project goals, vision, or personal circumstances after a service has commenced.

• Disagreement with Professional Opinion: Disagreement with the strategic advice, analysis, or expert opinion provided in our reports or consultations.

• External Market Fluctuations: Changes in the real estate market, local economy, or regulations that occur after a service has been delivered.

• Independent Action: A client finds a property or solution independently after engaging our services.

We view our engagements as partnerships. To ensure a smooth and successful project, we ask that clients provide accurate and timely information regarding their goals and needs. It is also the client’s responsibility to review all service agreements and policies, including this Akiyaz Refund Policy, before committing to a service. Clear communication and a shared understanding of the scope of work are the best ways to prevent misunderstandings.
